Each semester, our informal showing provides a venue for young choreographers to workshop their ideas on students and professionals as well as offer the surrounding community an opportunity to enjoy guest artists. Artists of all mediums are welcome to contribute and collaborate. The evening event is coupled with finger food and drinks to make for a great night out for all ages.
For students, participating in our informals provides the opportunity to work with creative dance concepts and share the evening with professionals.
Winter Concert provides preprofessional dancers in the greater Pittsburgh region with the opportunity to experience a professional audition and, if selected, to perform choreography set by a selection of Pittsburgh’s established and emerging choreographers. For 11 years, Winter Concert has paired artists with preprofessional dancers to create, learn and grow in a professional rehearsal environment.
Auditions for Winter Concert are held every year in the month of October. The 2019 audition date will be announced shortly. Dancers should attend with a resume, head/body shot and $20 audition fee.
The performance is held at The George Rowland White Performance Studio at Point Park University in January.
We believe that an essential part of a dance study program is a professional grade performance. To keep the focus on the dancing, we do not not require the purchase of costumes and provide DVDs of the performance to our families at no cost. DCP has it's own costume wardrobe available for dancers to rent for a nominal fee.
The Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh performances have been held at the Hillman Center for Performing Arts and the August Wilson Cultural Center. Details about our 2020 performance will be available shortly!
